“Where God Moved – The Story of The Key First Nation Mini AYC”
From September 19–21, AYC hosted a Mini AYC Gathering at a local church within The Key First Nation community in Saskatchewan.
It was a meaningful time of worship, fellowship, and a fresh beginning toward revival among the next generation.
🔥 What is a Mini AYC?
Unlike AYC’s large-scale spring and summer conferences, Mini AYC is a regional gathering where the AYC team travels directly to Indigenous communities to bring worship, the Word, and fellowship.
Through Mini AYC, Indigenous youth and families can experience God’s presence and restoration right where they are — in their own churches, homes, and lands.
🌾 A Weekend of Worship and Community
Around 80 people, including both youth and adults, attended the gathering.
Many of the youth were around 14 years old and participating for the first time.
However, since many had siblings who previously attended AYC, they quickly connected with the atmosphere of worship and the Word.
In the evenings, a large traditional tipi was set up outside the church, where the youth gathered with leaders to talk, laugh, and share life together.
It was more than just an overnight camp — it became a sacred time of bonding as one family in Christ, surrounded by warmth, prayer, and joy.
🙌 A Night of Legacy and Commissioning
One of the most powerful moments came during the final evening service.
Pastor Jamie Desjalais, a long-time partner and leader within AYC, received a ministry commissioning from Pastor Allen O’Soup, who has faithfully pastored Almond Tree Ministry Church since 1984.
This location held deep personal meaning — it was where Pastor Jamie first met Jesus, studied the Word, and began his ministry journey.
Returning to that very place to receive a new ministry assignment was a moving testimony of God’s faithfulness and the continuation of His work among Indigenous peoples.
From this day forward, Pastor Jamie will oversee both New Life Christian Centre and Almond Tree Ministry Church.
Please keep him and both congregations in your prayers as God continues to expand His kingdom work through them.
🎶 Upcoming AYC Events
Smokie Day Fundraising Event (October 22–23)
Join us for a community Smokie Day Fundraiser on October 22–23 (Tuesday & Wednesday) from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM at KMS Tools in Coquitlam.
We’ll be serving hot dogs and drinks to raise funds for AYC’s ongoing ministries and to connect with local supporters and churches.
Open Worship (Every Fourth Saturday)
Beginning this fall, AYC will host a monthly Open Worship Night on every fourth Saturday.
These gatherings are open to anyone with a heart for Indigenous ministry and missions — a time to worship together, share testimonies, and give glory to God for all He is doing.
Indigenous Youth Leadership Training Camp (December 12–15)
This December, AYC will hold a Leadership Training Camp for Indigenous youth.
Many who have encountered God through AYC will gather again to learn about discipleship and leadership through teaching, worship, and fellowship — growing deeper in their walk with Christ.

하나님이 일하신 자리 – The Key First Nation Mini AYC 이야기
지난 9월 19일부터 21일까지, AYC는 사스카추완 주 The Key First Nation 공동체 내 교회에서
첫 번째 Mini AYC 집회를 개최했습니다. 이번 집회는 예배와 교제, 그리고 다음 세대의 부흥을 향한 새로운 시작이 된 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.
🔥 Mini AYC란 무엇인가요?
Mini AYC는 기존의 봄·여름 대규모 AYC 집회와는 달리,
AYC 팀이 직접 한 지역 공동체를 찾아가 예배와 말씀, 교제를 함께 나누는 집회 입니다.
이를 통해 원주민 청소년과 가족들이 멀리 이동하지 않고도
자신의 교회와 마을 안에서 하나님의 임재와 회복을 경험할 수 있도록 돕고 있습니다.
🌾 예배와 공동체의 시간
이번 집회에는 청소년과 장년 약 80여 명이 함께했습니다.
특히 참석한 청소년 대부분이 14세 전후의 첫 참가자들이었지만,
형제자매 중 이미 AYC에 참석했던 이들이 많아 예배와 말씀에 자연스럽게 참여할 수 있었습니다.
저녁에는 교회 앞마당에 세워진 대형 전통 티피(Tipi) 안에서 특별한 교제의 시간을 가졌습니다.
아이들과 리더들이 함께 이야기 나누고 웃으며,
공동체의 따뜻한 사랑을 느끼는 밤이 되었습니다.
이 시간은 단순한 숙박이 아니라, 하나님 안에서 가족 공동체로 하나 되는 은혜의 자리였습니다.
🙌 사역의 유산이 이어진 특별한 밤
이번 Mini AYC의 가장 특별한 순간은 마지막 저녁 예배에 있었습니다.
AYC 초기부터 함께해온 Jamie Desjalais 목사님이
1984년부터 Almond Tree Ministry Church를 개척해 섬겨온
Allen O’Soup 목사님으로부터 사역 위임(Commissioning)을 받는 귀한 시간이었습니다.
이 장소는 Jamie 목사님이 처음 예수님을 인격적으로 만나고,
신학을 배우며 목회의 길을 걷기 시작했던 곳으로,
그에게는 사역의 출발점이자 영적 고향과도 같은 곳이었습니다.
이날 이후 Jamie 목사님은 자신이 섬기고 있는 New Life Christian Centre와 함께
Almond Tree Ministry Church의 사역까지 감당하게 되었습니다.
하나님께서 이 두 교회를 통해 행하실 새 일들을 위해 기도와 관심을 부탁드립니다.
🎶 다가오는 사역 소식

오는 10월 22일(화)–23일(수), 오전 9시부터 오후 2:30까지,
코퀴틀람 KMS Tools에서 AYC의 사역을 위한 Smokie Day 펀드레이징 이벤트가 열립니다.
따뜻한 핫도그와 음료를 나누며, AYC 사역을 위한 기금 모금을 통해 후원자들과의 교제의 시간을 가질 예정입니다.
• Open Worship (매월 네 번째 주 토요일)
올가을부터 매달 넷째 주 토요일,
원주민 사역과 선교에 관심 있는 모든 분들을 위한 열린 예배(Open Worship)가 열립니다.
함께 예배하고, 간증을 나누며, 사역의 보고를 듣는 은혜의 시간이 되길 기대합니다.
• 12월 12–15일, 원주민 청소년 리더십 트레이닝 캠프
오는 12월, AYC는 원주민 청소년들을 위한 리더십 트레이닝 집회를 준비하고 있습니다.
AYC를 통해 하나님을 만난 청소년들이 다시 모여
다양한 주제의 강의와 예배, 교제를 통해
예수님을 따르는 제자의 삶을 배우게 될 것입니다.

하나님께서는 지금도 캐나다 전역의 원주민 공동체 가운데 놀라운 일을 행하고 계십니다.
