AYC Continues a Journey of Gospel and Healing Across Canada and Korea
Gospel outreach in villages, short-term missions, and an international vision trip all point to one direction: the next generation.
🇨🇦 A First Visit to the Nisga’a Village: A Seed of Relationship and Worship
From July 2–5, the AYC team visited Gingolx Village, one of the communities in the Nisga’a Nation in northern British Columbia, for the first time. Though there had been no prior relationship, God opened doors from the very first day, leading each moment of the journey.
Upon arrival, a local child preparing for the village’s traditional march in August invited the team to a rehearsal. That invitation led to a gathering at the symbolic Longhouse, where the team met over 20 youth and children, forming natural connections.
That evening, the team held its first worship service with the children. As hearts opened through honest worship and prayer, the unfamiliar became sacred. The next day, the team was invited to a special birthday celebration for a 97-year-old elder. Together with the youth from the day before, the team led worship through music and dance—culminating in a powerful moment where everyone rose to sing “Amazing Grace” in God’s presence.
On the final evening, an elder invited the team to host a house worship service. With musical instruments and sound equipment on the balcony, the home became a sanctuary filled with prayer and song. Youth laid hands on one another and prayed with boldness and sincerity.
This visit was not about a program—it was about planting the first seeds of relationship and trust. We now look forward in prayer that some of these youth will join us again at the upcoming AYC Summer Conference.
🌎 Shingil Church Brings the Gospel to Vancouver Island
From Korea to Canada, young adults step into Indigenous communities with love
From July 7–17, 12 young adults and a pastor from Shingil Church in Seoul visited two Indigenous communities—Port Hardy and Ahousaht on Vancouver Island—for their first short-term mission trip to Canada.
Having previously hosted AYC youth on vision trips to Korea, the church prepared for months through prayer and training in Indigenous history. Through skits, worship dance, testimonies, children’s VBS, and fellowship, the team shared the love of Jesus across language and cultural barriers.
Many youth responded with open hearts. One team member reflected,
“We thought we came to serve, but we’re the ones who are going back changed.”
This trip inspired the young adults to bring a missions vision back to their own churches in Korea.
🇰🇷 AYC Indigenous Youth Now in Korea for Vision Trip 2025
From July 25 to August 8, four Indigenous youth from Ahousaht, Quatsino (BC), and Behchoko (NT) are currently in Korea for AYC’s 2025 Vision Trip. Designed to raise up Indigenous youth as Christ-centered leaders, the trip encourages them to go beyond their past and walk boldly into their calling.
Their journey began with a nationwide youth worship conference hosted by Shingil Church, where they worshiped with hundreds of Korean youth. The deep fellowship and spiritual unity across cultures was a glimpse of the global Church in action.
As the trip continues, the youth are engaging in historical and spiritual learning—visiting places such as Yanghwajin Foreign Missionary Cemetery, the Korean War Memorial, and Seodaemun Prison History Hall. They also participate in daily church gatherings and stay with Korean Christian families, experiencing warm hospitality and faith-filled homes.
This is not a sightseeing trip—it is a journey of worship, healing, and purpose. Each youth is already testifying to how God is working in and through them—and how the same revival can come to their communities back in Canada.
🔥 Prayer Needed: AYC Summer Conference (August 11–14)
Over 200 Indigenous youth expected to gather in Nanoose Bay, BC
AYC is now preparing for our 2025 Summer Conference, to be held August 11–14 at Nanoose Bay Camp. We anticipate 200–250 Indigenous youth from across Canada to attend, along with over 100 young adult and adult volunteers who will serve with prayer, worship, and discipleship.
Weekly prayer and preparation meetings began on July 12, and the entire team is crying out for God’s presence to bring healing, salvation, and a deep call to follow Jesus among this generation.

캐나다와 한국을 잇는 복음과 회복의 여정
현장을 향한 걸음, 관계 속에서 이어지는 하나님의 부르심
🇨🇦 Nisga’a 마을 첫 방문: 관계와 예배로 시작된 사역
7월 2일부터 5일까지, AYC는 브리티시컬럼비아 북부 Nisga’a Nation에 속한 Gingolx Village를 처음 방문했습니다. 기존에 관계가 없던 이 지역에서 하나님은 첫날부터 마음의 문을 여시고, 모든 순간을 인도하셨습니다.
마을에 도착하자 한 어린아이가 다가와 전통 퍼레이드 리허설에 초대했고, 이를 계기로 롱하우스(Longhouse)에서 20여 명의 아이들과 자연스럽게 교제가 시작되었습니다.
첫날 저녁엔 함께 예배를 드렸고, 찬양과 기도 속에서 낯설었던 분위기가 하나님의 임재로 채워졌습니다. 다음 날에는 마을의 97세 할머니 생신잔치에 초청받아 전날 만난 아이들과 함께 찬양과 워십댄스를 나누었고, ‘Amazing Grace’ 찬양에서는 현장에 있던 모두가 일어나 예배하며 하나님의 임재를 경험했습니다.
방문 마지막 날 저녁, 한 엘더의 초청으로 그 가정에서 드린 예배는 감동적이었습니다. 발코니에 설치된 악기와 음향 장비 덕분에 집이 예배당처럼 변했고, 아이들은 서로를 위해 손을 얹고 기도하며 하나님의 사랑을 깊이 체험했습니다.
이번 Gingolx 방문은 단순한 프로그램이 아닌, 관계의 씨앗이 심겨지는 시작이었으며, 앞으로 이 마을 청소년들이 여름 AYC 집회에 참석해 더 깊은 은혜를 누릴 수 있기를 기대하고 있습니다.
🌎 신길교회 청년단기선교팀, 밴쿠버섬에서 복음의 사랑을 나누다
처음으로 현지로 발걸음을 내딛은 한국 교회
7월 7일부터 17일까지, 서울 신길교회 청년부 목회자와 청년 12명은 캐나다 밴쿠버섬의 Port Hardy와 Ahousaht 지역을 방문하여 첫 단기선교를 진행했습니다.
그동안 AYC 비전트립 청소년들을 섬겨온 신길교회가 이번에는 직접 현지로 나아간 것입니다.
출국 두 달 전부터 캐나다 원주민의 역사와 아픔에 대해 배우고 기도로 준비한 이들은, 스킷드라마, 워십댄스, 간증, 어린이 VBS, 교제와 예배를 통해 복음을 전했습니다.
문화와 언어의 장벽을 넘어선 진심 어린 섬김에 청소년들의 마음이 열렸고, 현지 리더들과도 깊은 연대가 형성되었습니다.
한 청년은 이렇게 고백했습니다.
“도와주러 왔다고 생각했지만, 오히려 우리가 더 많이 배우고 갑니다.”
이번 사역은 청년들에게 선교에 대한 새로운 비전과 교회 안에서의 사명감을 새롭게 심어준 시간이었습니다.
🇰🇷 원주민 청소년, 현재 한국 비전트립 진행 중
7월 25일부터 8월 8일까지, AYC의 2025 한국 비전트립이 진행 중이며, Ahousaht, Quatsino (BC), Behchoko (NT)에서 온 4명의 청소년이 참여하고 있습니다.
이 여정은 원주민 청소년들이 자신의 배경과 상처를 넘어, 하나님의 부르심 가운데 민족을 섬기는 리더로 성장하도록 돕고자 기획되었습니다.
첫 일정으로 청소년들은 신길교회가 주관한 전국 청소년 연합 집회에 참석해 수많은 한국 청소년들과 함께 예배하고 말씀과 성령의 역사를 체험했습니다.
언어와 문화를 넘어 깊은 교제를 나누며 세계 교회의 하나됨을 느끼는 귀한 시간이었습니다.
현재 청소년들은 역사와 신앙을 배우는 프로그램(양화진 선교사 묘지, 서대문형무소, 한국전쟁기념관 등)과, 매일 이어지는 교회 예배, 소그룹 모임에 참여하고 있으며, 신길교회 가정의 홈스테이에 머물며 한국 기독교 가정의 삶을 직접 경험하고 있습니다.
이번 비전트립은 단순한 문화탐방이 아니라, 예배와 회복, 부르심을 향한 여정입니다. 이 청소년들은 받은 은혜를 지역으로 가지고 돌아가 하나님의 비전을 따르기로 결단하며, 하나님께서 여전히 캐나다 원주민 공동체 가운데 살아계심을 증거하고 있습니다.
🔥 다가오는 AYC 여름 집회를 위한 기도 요청
8월 11–14일, BC주 Nanoose Bay Camp
이번 비전트립 이후, AYC는 8월 11일부터 14일까지 Nanoose Bay Camp에서 2025 AYC Summer Conference를 개최합니다. 캐나다 전역에서 약 200~250명의 원주민 청소년들이 참석할 예정이며, 이를 섬기기 위해 약 100명의 봉사자들이 함께할 예정입니다.
7월 12일부터 매주 토요일마다 말씀과 기도 가운데 준비 모임을 진행 중이며, 복음, 회복, 제자훈련의 시간이 될 수 있도록 하나님의 강력한 임재를 간구하고 있습니다.
