AYC Participates in the First-Ever “Nations for First Nations” Conference in Winnipeg
“A Time of Unity for the Next Generation”
From June 5–8, AYC (Aboriginal Youth Community) had the honor of being invited to attend the inaugural Nations for First Nations Conference, held at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This national gathering brought together Indigenous Christian leaders and organizations from across Canada to share ministry updates and cast a united vision for the next generation.
The conference drew particular attention with the presence of Cindy Woodhouse, National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations (AFN)—the most influential representative body for over 600 First Nations communities across Canada. Alongside her, Regional Chiefs and Indigenous leaders from diverse sectors shared their passion and the urgent need for deeper collaboration.
Though the attendees represented a wide range of regions and ministries, one theme echoed throughout the entire conference: “The Next Generation.”
There was a collective conviction that “we must identify and raise up the future leaders from among today’s hurting Indigenous youth.” This vision naturally aligned with AYC’s calling and ministry focus.
Although AYC was not on the original program, the team was spontaneously invited to lead worship during the conference. The worship dance and praise led by AYC’s youth leaders deeply moved the attendees. Following this, the testimonies of youth leaders and a ministry sharing session by Pastor Deborah Jeong left a lasting impact, prompting one leader to say,
“Revival is already beginning within AYC.”
AYC received significant attention as the only national ministry in Canada focused specifically on Indigenous youth since its founding in 2013. Many leaders expressed a desire to partner after witnessing the fruit and authenticity of the youth’s worship and stories. Their sincere sharing didn’t just present a program—it transformed the atmosphere of the room.
Through this conference, AYC did more than just introduce its ministry. It became a moment to share God’s heart with leaders from across the country and to affirm the need for investing in Indigenous youth. We give all the glory to God for leading every step of this journey. AYC remains committed to discovering and raising up the hidden leadership and God-given potential within the next generation of Indigenous youth.

AYC, 캐나다 첫 ‘Nations for First Nations’ 컨퍼런스 참가
“다음 세대를 향한 연합의 시작을 보다”
지난 6월 5일부터 8일까지, AYC는 매니토바 위니펙에서 열린 제1회 Nations for First Nations Conference에 초청받아 참석했습니다. 이번 컨퍼런스는 캐나다 전역의 원주민 기독교 리더들과 단체들이 한 자리에 모여, 서로의 사역을 나누고 다음 세대를 위한 비전을 함께 모색하는 귀한 자리였습니다.
특별히 이번 모임에는 Assembly of First Nations(AFNs)의 전국 의장인 Cindy Woodhouse를 비롯해, 각 주의 Regional Chief들과 다양한 분야의 원주민 리더들이 함께하며 사역 간의 연대와 협력의 중요성을 나누었습니다.
행사 내내 한 가지 주제가 중심이 되었습니다. 바로 “다음 세대”였습니다.
“앞으로 이 시대를 살아갈 원주민 청소년들 가운데 미래의 리더들을 어떻게 세워갈 것인가?”
이 질문은 모든 세션을 관통했고, AYC의 사역 방향성과도 놀랍도록 맞닿아 있었습니다.
현장에서는 예정에 없던 AYC의 찬양 인도와 워십 댄스가 즉석에서 요청되었고, 청소년 리더들의 예배와 간증은 큰 감동을 주었습니다. AYC 사역을 소개하는 시간에는 “이미 우리가 꿈꾸는 부흥이 이 안에서 시작되고 있다”는 고백이 흘러나왔고, 여러 리더들이 AYC와 함께 사역하고 싶다는 뜻을 나누며 실제적인 협력의 문이 열리기도 했습니다.
AYC는 지난 2013년부터 캐나다 전역의 원주민 청소년들을 섬기는 유일한 단체로서, 이번 컨퍼런스를 통해 그 사역의 열매와 영향력을 다시 한 번 확인하는 시간이었습니다. 하나님께서 예비하신 만남 속에서, AYC는 단지 사역을 알리는 것을 넘어 전국의 리더들과 하나님의 마음을 나누며 깊은 연대를 이루는 은혜의 시간을 경험했습니다.
